Endometriosis, according to a renowned gynecologist, Dr.Lee, ?is a health disorder that occurs when cells from the lining of the uterus grow in other areas of the body. This can lead to pain, irregular bleeding and problems getting pregnant.? Dr.Lee said patients with this condition had 20 percent less chance of having children, pointing out that dealing with endometriosis as a female could be difficult.
What are the common affected organs of endometriosis? They are including: ovary, back wall of uterus, cervix, rectum, peritoneum, urethra, bladder, perineum, fallopian tube, and even chest and legs. The times of defecation is increasing. With the aggravation of disease, the symptoms become more and more evident.
Irregular menstruation. Endometriosis is always associated with short menstrual cycle, increased menstrual blood, and prolonged menstrual period. It indicates the dysfunction of ovarian. Irregular menstruation can be referred to, but it has not value in the final diagnosis.
Acute abdominal disease during the period. Generally, there are cysts in the uterus. Many patients would have a operation for torsion of ovarian cyst or ectopic pregnancy. If we don’t do the operation and the pelvic adhesion is aggravating, the acute abdominal disease would happen.
Periodical abdominal discomfort. The morbidity of this symptoms is higher than dysmenorrhea. Majority of endometriosis patients without dysmenorrhea have this symptom.
The amount of pain a woman feels correlates poorly with the extent or stage of endometriosis, with some women having little or no pain despite having extensive endometriosis or endometriosis with scarring, while other women may have severe pain even though they have only a few small areas of endometriosis. So the severe endometriosis is easy to be ignored. For avoiding this, we should take measures as soon as possible.
